Position: Instructional Coach
Location: Central

Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a resource to teachers.
- Model research-based instructional approaches and collaborate with teachers to determine those approaches that best meet the student’s needs. Co-teach as appropriate.
- Assist teachers in aligning their teaching with appropriate standards, curriculum, and assessments.
- Aid teachers in the design and development of technology-rich lesson and curriculum that improves student learning (remote/in-person as needed).
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate technology into the academic program, providing current and relevant materials.
- Work directly with teachers to provide technical support, including leading occasional lessons in the classroom.
- Observe the teacher as he/she implements changes in instructional approaches and provide feedback to the teacher.
- Assist with remote and in-person district assessments as needed.
- Provide assessment support to teachers through collaborative analysis of student work and formal and informal assessments.
- Monitor the progress of struggling students and offer suggestions for intervention to meet students’ needs.
- Facilitate inquiry groups among teachers when current research is discussed, aligning to school and district goals.
- Assist with usage, implementation, integrations, and helpdesk troubleshooting of devices, programs, and applications required by the district (hardware, software, and teaching resources).
- Support district and school administrators, accomplishing objectives to fulfill specific, measurable, and attainable goals as written in District and Schoolwide Plans.
- Maintain personal commitment to professional growth by remaining current in research and best practices, and engaging in continuous professional development.
- Conduct job-embedded professional development for teachers and staff offering research-based instructional practices and utilizing technology tools to support student instruction.
- Assist with the identification, selection, and implementation of district curriculum and resources to support learning.
- Support Tech Mentors so they can lead and educate other teachers and staff in the use of required district tools, resources, and beyond.
- Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community.
- Develop positive, trusting, professional relationships with teachers and staff while providing instructional coaching.
- Respect and maintain confidentiality in the performance of all assigned duties.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction or other District Administrators.
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
- Participate in a professional learning community.
- Grow and develop professionally.
- Demonstrate professionalism in behavior and dress.
- Attend meetings, serve on committees, and perform such other duties and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned.
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules.
- Have regular attendance and infrequent absences.
Physical Requirements
- Endurance within a classroom setting; standing, sitting, or walking throughout the classroom, building or outside activities with the ability to maneuver in tight spaces between desks, etc.
- Working in an instructional setting may entail kneeling or squatting, stooping, and bending from the waist on an occasional to frequent basis on a given day.
- Use of aids such as whiteboards, posters, bulletin boards, overhead projector, television, computer, and technological equipment.
- Retrieval, use, lifting, and storage of material, including books, equipment, assignments, etc.
Employment
- 180 days
- The schedule is subject to change with district demands in compliance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
- Completion of mandated training through the Global Compliance Network (GCN) without financial compensation.
